Small Business Profits Power Tip!

This tip to improve your small business profits is simple, yet it really is the most important. If you do this, if you take this action regularly and consistently, you cannot fail to succeed. I advise all of my consultancy clients to do this, yet only some do. Those that do see massive results. Those that do increase the number of clients that they look after and consequently the amount of profits that they make.
What I can never understand is why my other clients don't do it. I think some business owners constantly seek reasons to sabotage their business success. Whether this is because they have limiting beliefs, i.e. that they can only ever make a certain amount of money, or achieve a certain level of success, I am not sure. What I do know is that it costs them dearly.
So what is this simple yet sound piece of advice?
Spend the first thirty to sixty minutes of every working day marketing your business.
Every day. Not on the days when you have some spare time. Not on every third or fourth working day. Every single working day that you have. If you work five days a week, that will give you between 2.5 hours to 5 hours marketing per week. Now you could say that you will do it all on one day, but the trouble is that this doesn't work. You need to make this a daily habit. This will then soon become a routine, and once routines are formed they are very hard to stop.
So if you are going to see clients for the day, this means getting up 30 to 60 minutes earlier or working later at the end of the day. My advice would be to spend the first part of every working day working on your business. It is like the oxygen masks on a plane. When they are running through the safety announcements, they always tell you to put your own oxygen mask on before helping children or friends. This is because you are no use to your family or friends if you have stopped breathing.
It is the same for your business. How much use are you to your clients if you go out of business and cannot serve them in the future because you did not spend enough time promoting your own business? No use whatsoever.
Start today, no excuses. Programme in 30 to 60 minutes into your diary for your next working day and every working day thereafter. Spend this time promoting your business. Write articles for your website. Prepare a weekly or monthly newsletter. Find some prospects and email them a link to your free report or downloadable guide. Turn an article into a press release. Change the wording of your advertisement to make it more effective. In some ways it does not matter what you do. By taking regular marketing action your own marketing skills will get better and better. You will find new ways to promote your business. This will work, I assure you.
Alternatively, you can be like some of my clients above, and always find a reason not to do this. These reasons are excuses. Some of them are really good, but excuses never put money into your bank, and if you want your business to grow as much as I want it to for you, you need to drop the excuses and take action. Please start today and let me know how you get on.
